KarmaQuest works in partnership with reputed international and grass-roots conservation
and social-service organizations in the places we visit. Together we
plan and carry out adventure travel and outdoor learning trips that
benefit communities and help protect the environment and cultural heritage
that foster tourism and improved livelihoods. Our trips contribute to
the following organizations' work. Please see their websites for more
information.
Snow Leopard Conservancy (SLC) US and SLC-India Trust
Snow Leopard Conservancy is dedicated to demonstrating
innovative grassroots measures that lead local people to become better
stewards of the endangered snow leopard, its prey and its habitat. KarmaQuest
trips to areas that support snow leopard (Wintertime Quest and In Search of Snow Leopards in Bhutan/a>) help generate funds and awareness for snow
leopard conservation, and income for mountain inhabitants as an incentive
for conservation.
Chandra Gurung Conservation Trust
As a close friend and colleague of Dr. Chandra Gurung, we have pledged to keep his indomitable spirit alive and continue spreading his message of compassionate conservation to young Nepalis. Wendy Lama serves as President of the Chandra Gurung Conservation Trust (CGCT) whose mission is:
-- to mentor the next generation of Himalayan leaders in conservation and sustainable development
-- to support projects that embrace the vision of Chandra Gurung.
Following the disastrous earthquakes in Nepal of 2015 and the COVID pandemic, CGCT extended its reach to provide life-saving emergency relief. We invite your support through the CGCT website and
Facebook portals.
Virtues Children Nepal (VCN)
As a member of the VCN Board of Directors, KarmaQuest's Wendy Lama has a long association with orphaned children of Nepal. We invite you to fall in love with them as she has by joining our Cultures, Arts and Wonders of Nepal Trip Benefitting Paropakar Programs for Disadvantaged Children
. On this two week trip, you'll tour six UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Sites of Kathmandu Valley. You will also visit lakeside Pokhara and take a jungle safari tour of Chitwan National Park.
Back in Kathmandu, you'll visit the girls' orphanage that VCN supports and meet the girls. Your participation on the trip includes a tax deductible donation to VCN to support its programs. You may also choose to sponsor a child's education.
Bhutan Foundation The Foundation aims to build Bhutanese capacity to achieve the country's own pillars of Gross National Happiness -- Environmental Conservation, Sustainable Development, Cultural Preservation, and Good Governance -- through training and access to global expertise, new technologies, and resources. KarmaQuest supports project activities by engaging local service providers on our trips, and by donating to the Foundation's diverse and creative programs.

Partners Asia
Partners Asia works to help some of the most disadvantaged people in Burma/Myanmar, and perhaps Southeast Asia. Focussing primarily on women and children, the US-based non-profit organization supports in-country non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that deliver grassroots level assistance in remote parts of the country to under-served ethnic minorities. Programs "help protect the vulnerable, give a voice to the powerless, and support the growth of a more inclusive society.”
The National Tropical Botanical Garden (NTBG) is dedicated to preserving tropical plant diversity and stemming the tide of extinction through plant exploration, propagation, habitat restoration, scientific research, and education. NTBG's gardens and preserves are safe havens for at-risk species that otherwise might disappear forever. KarmaQuest is proud to have designed and operated trips to Bhutan, Burma and Thailand for NTBG Trustees, Fellows and Members since 2004. We are partnering to offer NTBG members unique trips that focus on tropical botanical ecosystems in the world. We conducted one to Sri Lanka in 2017 and are preparing for another to Lord Howe Island off the east coast of Australia in 2018.
